Summary
I am a Drupal and WordPress web developer and site builder. My local environment is usually VirtualBox and Redhat with a GUI and also Vagrant if allowed on client computer. I can theme a CMS from designer created mockups or by copying the look of another website. I can create all the needed Twig templates and theme preprocess hooks. I have worked on government projects in a full web development life cycle. Planning, Design, Coding, Testing, Launch and Maintenance. I work well in a team environment that is using Git, Jira and the inside the Development, Staging, and Production environment. I have worked in a Agile team environment. I can set up custom Drupal Paragraphs displaying static or dynamic content with dependent templates, custom Views with Contextual filters and Relations to other entity’s, Blocks and Content Types. I am good with Twig filters and the Twig templating system. I know the basic Drupal hooks. I am good at customizing forms using hook form alter. I can alter search query using hook query alter. I am good at upgrading Drupal core, third-party modules and patching vulnerabilities using Composer. I have installed and used all of the popular Drupal modules, Redirect, Metatag, Pathauto, Ctools, Devel.   • Contract for the FDA Food and Drug Administration and National Institutes of Health public website. Fda.gov.
  • Building the public facing website from a legacy platform to Drupal 8 including migration from Oracle CMS to Drupal 8.
  • Mapped old content fields to new fields.
  • The migration was done using migration software and mapping files.
  • Built new CCK fields that accepting the migrated data. Entity blocks were used so that each template had access to node variables.
  • Set up Composer to maintain packages and update the site.
  • Updated the site when a new Drupal Security risk was announced.
  • Added NPM Node package manager and added Gulp to compile Sass.
  • Built custom Views and Datatable JS to display content.
  • Created the theme and templates to display the content.
  • Created Custom Twig extension module that enhanced twig filters.
  • Created Dynamic Paragraphs that were populated by Views.
  • Created a custom module that added Conditional Paragraph fields.
  • Custom modules created included the use of hook form alter to modify the node edit pages and remove or unset certain fields, change the labels of certain fields and re-position fields.
  • Other hooks used were hook query alter to modify Views queries.
  • Created a few new alert messages. Some custom jQuery was created to improve 508 accessibility by adding labels to fields that had missing labels.
  • The node edit page and admin area was styled by a custom theme. For the admin area, also created View display for recent content in relation to the Group the user was in.
  • The Ckeditor was extended with a custom code that added default table insertion properties.
  • Preprocess theme hook were created that added useful node variables needed for the breadcrumb and it added page attributes.
  • Created backend scripts that populated fields from CSV data files or from other field values. Datatables JS was heavily used and customized due to the large data they needed displayed.
  • Created Cron jobs that would execute the View periodically so that the Datatable would load static CSV list faster and display 15000 fields in seconds. Git and Git Split were used for each of 3 environments – Development, Staging and Production.
  • Had a team of 6 Drupal developers working together using Agile method and Jira in weekly Sprints and daily Scrum meetings.
  • Used AWS GovCloud and configured the Red Hat environments for 3 EC2 servers Development, Staging and Production.
  • Upgraded the PHP version when needed. The site is using Single Sign on with the LDAP module. The final site Fda.gov went live in 2019.
